Ilfracombe Beach

Description:
Ilfracombe is a large North Devon seaside town which is a pleasant town to visit with a nice sea front promenade with gardens and also fine scenery to enjoy, especially from Capstone Hill. There is a small grey sand and rock beach called Wilder Beach by the promenade and to the north of the town is Tunnels Beach which is accessed via a network of tunnels, however note that Tunnels Beach is currently closed due to a cliff fall.

Directions:
Ilfracombe is approximately 11 miles from Barnstaple in North Devon. There are various routes into North Devon to Barnstaple such as the A39 from Cornwall or the A377 from Exeter. At Barnstaple take the A361 on the road bridge over the River Taw. Then at the Braunton Road Junction turn left for Ilfracombe. Continue on the A361 through Braunton towards Ilfracombe. Arriving in Ilfracombe, the best route to the sea front is to continue on the A361 into Ilfracombe and then turn left into Wilder Road which is signposted to the Sea Front and the follow this road to the sea front. For the Tunnels Beach entrance, on Wilder Road turn left onto Runnacleave Road.
